Cimms Gentle Tide Petty Chef 168mm

New York artist Greg Cimms builds functional art designed for daily use, and this petty chef features a workhorse grind and toughness that will be coveted around the kitchen for cuts big and small. Available here in pre-owned, unused, like-new condition, the 168mm / 6.6″ blade is forged by hand from a homemade, stainless-clad carbon steel formula with beautiful hand sanded, high-polished finish and dark etch at the edge. The bevel geometry boasts pronounced convexity and enough material above the sharp, slim edge for the most demanding cuts. The heel stands 45mm tall, enough to rock and chop on the board, while the overall profile is versatile, quick, and light in the hand. A pointed tip provide versatility and strength at the end of a rounded blade spine that maintains its dimension throughout, resulting in a rigid, hard-working tool for the chef’s kitchen. To wield the blade, the fingers hug a handle sculpted from dyed and stabilized maple of gorgeous color and grain, capped with a bolster of carbon fiber and ring of nickel silver.
