Koa Damascus Chef 208mm

Master Bladesmith Aaron Wilburn’s first piece to grace our collection in some time is an absolute beauty: simple, elegant, and packed full of utility for the chef’s kitchen. At 208mm / 8.2″ long, the blade’s edge sweeps upward from a versatile, 61mm tall heel to a high, strong, and pointed tip, providing ample curvature for rocking on the board and tackling the largest of cuts. Thin, hard, and razor-sharp at the edge, Aaron has shaped this one-of-a-kind chef knife from a house-made carbon damascus steel in a twist pattern forged by hand from 1084 and 15n20 alloys. Designed and built at his Idaho studio to be the workhorse of any kitchen, Aaron balances finesse and precision with a ready-to-work feel capable of all manner of daily meal prep. Filling the hand with a tall, beautifully sculpted profile, the Western-style hidden tang handle is carved from Hawaiian Koa wood with a tapering ferrule of Arizona Dessert Ironwood.
