Foliage Serving Spatula

Artist Michelle Kwiecien’s Foliage Serving Spatula is the object through which we discovered her thoughtful, beautiful work, and we have not looked back. But one utensil from her Foliage Collection which includes a serving set, turning spatula, and others, this spatula boasts the same fern motif across the antiqued brass spatula head, achieved using a careful photo-etching technique inspired by intaglio printmaking. Michelle’s resume spans metalwork, hand paper-making, and printmaking, and from her Philadelphia studio she aims to create pieces that emphasize the importances of sharing meals, setting the table, and making everyday rituals special, while evoking nostalgia and antiquity. This unique object does just that.
