Blenheim XL Nakiri 180mm

This 2024 Special Edition release is an XL version of Blenheim Forge’s classic nakiri vegetable knife, forged by hand in Peckham, South London and delivered with a custom leather saya. The Japanese Aogami Blue paper san mai steel blade stands an impressive 72mm tall, positioning the profile between that of a typical nakiri and its larger cousin, the chef’s Chinese Cleaver. With its thin, razor-sharp edge and the weight and steadiness that come from the overall size and mass of this beautiful tool, the Blenheim Forge team has created a knife that will move effortlessly through ingredients small or large (or extra-large). Dark, forge-finished flats show the hammer marks of the object’s hand-hammered origins, with the alternating layers of the steel’s sumingashi cladding. The handle, true to Blenheim’s recognizable and comfortable style, is sculpted from walnut wood which tapers gently from back to front in octagonal form, culminating at a brush-finished copper ferrule.
