Autumn Butcher Block & Plate

A vibrant board, named “Autumn,” but with beauty deserving of year-round use, is a one-of-a-kind work of art that to the touch feels somehow even more exceptional than it looks. Crafted by Luke Martin of Owl Woodworks in Canada from yellowheart, walnut, and maple wood, is a 12″ by 18″ butcher block fitted with juice grooves along the top and side as well as a half-moon cut-out for its matching plate on the opposite side, allowing for a smooth and easy move of freshly chopped ingredients off of the cutting surface. The board sits raised over its place on the countertop, suspended above by feet of brass, stainless steel, and silicone to prevent any slipping or sliding. Not only in looks does this block speak of the autumn leaves falling, but also in the character imbued into it by Luke; it carries the feeling of a cozy and warm home to cook and eat in with family and friends as the air cools and crisps outside.
